Jack's Favorite-Turquoise Bouquet

To date, this is my husband's favorite painting. He really liked the "Very Blue Heron" but says now the "Turquoise Bouquet" is numero uno. He hung it in our bedroom and says this one can't go to the gallery--we'll see! It seems he has more of an attachment to the paintings than I do. It is kind of funny--I do actually get attached to my paintings. I hope the people who look at them and buy them, enjoy them as much as I do.

Fishy, Fishy

These are my two paintings of very colorful fish. I LOVE them. In fact, I love them so much that they inspired a new --large-- painting for the summer place at the Webster Lake. The large fish painting is soon to come. Check back next week.

Different Style

I tried a different style (more modern, art deco--I guess) and used a little texture with this one. It coordinates wonderfully in my living room. It is a large painting. It looks simple, but it took foreeeevvveerrrr!

More Coffee Cups

I love doing these coffee cups. They are just fun!!! I love to experiment with the different color combos. I think they would look great in a coffee shop. I have these new ones in my kitchen and give a chuckle every time I walk by.

My Art Went to the Gallery

This weekend my art went to the Creative Fish Art Gallery in Syracuse. The gallery accepted over twenty of my folk art paintings. Kathy Boyts, the owner, has a lot of really original, handmade artwork in the gallery. I am very excited and honored to be a part of this. Here is a picture of Kathy after checking in my paintings. She is in one of the studio workshops. I have also included an inside and an outside photo of the gallery.

The Creative Fish Art Gallery is located at 200 E Pickwick Drive in Syracuse, Indiana. Stop by and take a browse. You might even want to purchase a Karla Hayden original.

If you know me, you know I love, love ,love my morning coffee--thick and strong. I am going to do an on-going series of these whimsical coffee cups. Fun, funky, and flavorful...

This series was inspired after purchasing a coffee cup painting by Kathy Levitt. I love her art...it is what I would call happy art!!!

Circles, Circles...Everywhere

I love to use circles in my paintings of trees and flowers. So, I decided it would be fun to create something out of all circles--it is a butterfly. I am going to try this technique again soon with another object or creature.

Sunshine Inspiration

We are back from Florida...and what fun we had!!! Most of our time was spent on the beach. I had my sketch book with me everyday. Here a few whimiscal paintings in my "Flip Flop" series--my sunshine shoes of choice!
