Basking Mermaid

This mermaid is getting a tan by basking in the sunshine. It's been dreary and cold here. I am ready to bask in the sunshine, too!!!

Wavy Day Mermaid

"Wavy Day Mermaid" is just meadering in the waves--with no particular place to go. Sometimes we just need a day like that.

White and Blue Posies

This painting is called "White and Blue Posies." There is nothing better than a purple sky...

Trying My Hand at Fish

Since I love color, I decided to do some fish. Inspired by a few relaxing moments by our fish tank and thoughts of summers at the lake, I am extremely pleased with the end result. I am sure I will do a few more fish, so keep checking back. Maybe I'll go crazy!!!

Addition to Bouquet Series

This painting is called, "Freshly Picked." It is another in my "Bouquet" series. I decided to experiment with some different color combos. I've gotten lots of compliments on this one.

Two New Mermaids

All my mermaids up to this point have been in the water. The one on top is called, "Sunning Mermaid on a Rock." I decided to place this gal on a rock catching a few rays. I love how it came out.
The one below is called, "Mermaid Enjoying Life."

Mermaid Sunset with Friends

I have painted my largest mermaid yet...plus, I used a sponging technique for the sunset background.

Clay Vase

Here is "Clay Vase," another in the "Bouquet" series. It is a small 8 x 10.

Garden Posies Series

This one is called, "Blue and Purple Posies." I used the same type of flower design as I use for my vase collection.

Big Flowers Finished

"Big Flowers" is finished! I added some black outline to the flowers. This something I do frequently. It is kind of funny how the color I mixed for one of the flowers is the exact color of the wall in the our living room--weird because it is an unusual color.

Big Flowers

This one is not finished yet. I am not quite sure where to go with it--taking some time to "mull it over." It is called, "Big Flowers" and it is part of my "Flowers of the Day" collection.

Tangled Trees

It is simple, but I really like this one.

Playful Kitten

Another in my "Flowers of the Day" collection. It is called, "Playful Kitten." This one would be great for someone who loves kittens. It would look very nice in a blue room.

Red at Dusk

This is another in the series "Flowers of the Day." It is called, "Red at Dusk." It is a small 8 x 10. I love the evening sky!

Blue at Dawn

I decided to try my skills with some dry brushing. This is one in a series called, "Flowers of the Day." I like the way this one turned out. Hubby says it is his favorite because he loves the vibrant colors.

Mermaid Sister Love

This is one of my mermaid series that started it all. I created these to decorate my place at the lake in a mermaid theme.

Mermaid Sister Summer

This is another in the "Mermaid Sister" series. All my mermaids are extremely happy--just as I am at the lake in the summer.

Mermaid Series Peace

This is the final of the mermaid sister series. Her name is Peace, as she looks so peaceful floating along in the waves of blue.

Jester Vase

This was my first flower bouquet. It is called "Jester Vase" and is part of my "Bouquet" series. My hubby said we won't need to plant any flowers for the summer if I contiune to paint flowers--I love flowers and these last forever!

Kathy's Bouquet

This is a flower bouquet I painted for a good friend just recently diagnosed with breast cancer. If you notice, many of the details I incorporated include the pink breast cancer ribbon in the flowers, vase, and border. It is part of the "Bouquet" series.

The Last Flower Standing

I wanted a red flower painting for my living my room. It was late fall and a beautiful sunny day. We'd already had several frosts, but as I looked out onto the patio there were still a few red flowers standing tall in all their beauty -- Hence, the title, Last Flower Standing.
